Led Zeppelin
‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ is now available on Blu-ray and DVD (but only in Australia for now)
“Becoming Led Zeppelin” was released on Blu-ray and DVD in Australia on June 18, the first official physical media version of the film.
The Australian version of the film doesn’t come with any special features and it appears that the upcoming Italian physical media release on June 25 won’t either.
It’s likely that the film will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in other regions with special features in the coming months.
Newsletter exclusive: Led Zeppelin files new lawsuit
The hardest-working people in the music industry just might be Led Zeppelin’s lawyers.
The band has filed its second lawsuit this year, again targetting counterfeit merchandise by seeking an injunction aimed at taking down online sales listings promoting unauthorised Led Zeppelin items.
The band’s complaint, filed in Indiana on June 12, is almost identical to a separate lawsuit that the band filed in Illinois on January 28.
This second lawsuit comes as Jimmy Page prepares his legal response to Jake Holmes’ new lawsuit over “Dazed and Confused”.

A ‘Mr. Jimmy’ film update
Ahead of the release of the feature-length documentary “Mr. Jimmy” on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on July 2, the film is returning to Japanese cinemas for two weeks on June 27.
On July 6, there will be an in-store event and a performance by Mr. Jimmy himself at Tower Records Shinjuku to promote the film’s physical release.
Cameron Crowe’s memoir will be published this year
Journalist Cameron Crowe’s memoir will be published on October 28. According to publisher Simon & Schuster, “The Uncool” will cover Crowe’s life including “his road trip covering Led Zeppelin’s 1975 tour, which lands him—and the band—on the cover of Rolling Stone.”
Stone carver spends year carving original Led Zeppelin poster design
Alfie Watson, a stone carver who is completing a degree at the only historic stone carving school in the UK, has spent a year carving an original Led Zeppelin poster design out of stone as his final project.
“Each of their albums has a strong sense of folklore and mystery, and I’ve embedded subtle references into the design – small details for viewers to discover,” Watson tells LedZepNews.
“I won’t spoil them all, but one of my favourites is a black dog, nestled at the bottom border among the Art Nouveau frame and Celtic knotwork. It nods to the story behind ‘Black Dog’, inspired by the Labrador that used to roam Headley Grange during the recording of Led Zeppelin IV,” Watson adds, “it felt right to let that wild, untamed spirit rest peacefully at the foot of the scene.”
Watson’s Degree Show runs at the City & Guilds of London Art School until June 27.
Sabrina Carpenter promotes rare 1980s Led Zeppelin fanzine

Sabrina Carpenter celebrated her latest single “Manchild” reaching number one in the US and the UK by posting a photograph showing an issue of the 1980s Led Zeppelin fanzine The Rover to her 47 million followers on Instagram.
Yes, really. A June 18 Instagram post by the singer, currently one of the most popular pop musicians in the world, includes a photograph of a book and magazine store that is selling a copy of the fourth and final issue of The Rover that was published in January 1984.
We managed to track the photograph down to Counterpoint Records & Books in Los Angeles. The store tells LedZepNews it has two issues of The Rover in stock in case anyone is keen to snap them up.
Barrington Coleby artwork for sale
Years ago, LedZepNews succeeded in tracking down Barrington Coleby, the elusive artist behind the hermit painting found on the inside sleeve of Led Zeppelin’s gatefold album.
Our search for Coleby was motivated in part by a suggestion in Mick Wall’s 2008 book “When Giants Walked the Earth” that Coleby never existed and instead was a pseudonym for Jimmy Page.
Coleby did in fact exist and moved to Switzerland later in life after living in Boleskine House. He politely but firmly told LedZepNews that he had no desire for publicity, so we let him be.
Coleby died in 2014 and some of his remaining artwork is now up for sale through his friend Gisela Martin. She has also produced a book containing images of some of his work.
Please let us know by replying to this email if anyone is interested in being connected to Martin.
Robert Plant
Robert Plant attended a river pollution protest
Robert Plant attended a protest in Bewdley about the poor quality of the water in the River Severn on June 15.
Plant was interviewed by BBC News about the issue. “Once upon a time, kids used to have a great time in the river,” Plant told BBC News. “Now I think that parents, everybody’s really cautious about getting anywhere near it.”
An article about the protest published by The Kidderminster Shuttle shows that he attended with at least three members of Saving Grace.
The BBC News website published a photograph of Plant at the protest. Plant can also briefly be seen in this BBC News report.
